About

Hi there! My name is Emma Davenport and I am a freelance journalist, writer, and educator based between Atlanta, Georgia and Madrid, Spain.

My work is driven by a deep curiosity about people, cultures, and the stories that connect us. I’ve spent time living in both Italy and Spain, which has greatly influenced my approach to journalism. My time abroad has taught me to view the world through a wider lens and inspired me to tell stories that connect people across backgrounds and perspectives.

As I begin a new chapter teaching English in Spain, I continue to pursue freelance journalism. Whether I am reporting news or documenting my life abroad, my goal is always the same: to tell stories with authenticity and a sense of curiosity that invites readers to view the world a little differently than before.

When I’m not writing or teaching, I’m probably planning my next adventure. Travel has become one of the greatest influences on both my life and my work, and I’m on a mission to visit 30 countries before I turn 30! Whether I’m navigating a new city or learning a new language, I believe the best experiences often happen when we embrace the uncomfortable and unfamiliar.

This website is home to my journalistic work, freelance projects, and personal reflections as I navigate life abroad in my twenties. Thanks for following along on my adventures- both professionally and personally!
